Hermes Scarf Cheval Surprise Remix: A Jubilant Puzzle! Rare and Sought After

In a stunning and very unusual colourway, this Hermes scarf feels as new, retaining it original folds and original stiffness, sheen, weight, depth of colour and detail, and care tag; all presented in its immaculate original box and tissue. Infuriatingly it has been incorrectly folded, and there are a couple of very faint marks on it; but we dont have the heart to send such a pristine-looking scarf to the cleaners in the possible hope that they are removable.  Condition: 9.9/10.

The jubilant design offers you the most beautiful, luxurious, original and wonderful puzzle! First designed in monochrome in 2004 by Dimitri Rybaltchenko, the scarf was relaunched in dazzling colourways in 2016, as a ‘Remix’.  Look for the Hermes horse hidden in the apparently sponteneous and abstract paint splashes!

Hermes writes: “Horses and riders emerge from a cloudburst of colour. Dimitri Rybaltchenko leads us on a visual adventure of his own making. Lost at first in the formless splashes of yellow, orange, magenta, blue and green, we gradually discern the hidden silhouettes. It all depends (quite literally) on the viewer’s perspective. In Rybaltchenko’s own words, ‘disparate, apparently meaningless elements are connected, and take on meaning, a life of their own.’ His design echoes the thought processes that lead to the birth of a new idea: ‘we must let ourselves dream, let our gaze float free. A few splashes of colour are all it takes to break the silence.’ Here, silence gives way to the thunder of hooves, the cadenced breath of galloping horses. There’s a moment of calm, in the figures of the iconic horse, carriage and groom, symbols of the house of Hermès (based on a painting by Alfred de Dreux). And Carle Vernet and Jonny Audy, equestrian painters of the 18th and 19h centuries, are along for the ride, too. In the purest spirit of the house of Hermès, classic, foundational motifs take on new, thoroughly modern forms. Originally conceived in monochrome, and re-cast now in vivid colour, Cheval surprise remix continues to captivate the imagination.

Dimitri Rybaltchenko is a renowned Hermès scarf designer, known for his vivid imagination and enchanting creations. Born into a cosmopolitan artistic family with French and Ukrainian roots, Dimitri’s background includes diverse arts such as opera, painting, architecture, drawing, and sculpture. As a result, his creative work knows no boundaries, and his artistry spans across various mediums, techniques, and styles.

Throughout his collaboration with Hermès, Dimitri has designed nearly forty scarves, but his artistry extends beyond scarves. He has also created objects and decorations for Hermès, Fendi Casa, Dior, and Saint Laurent, among others. His work ranges from designing silk scarves, bracelets, plates, and ties for Hermès to crafting furniture and decorations for Fendi Casa’s Cerva line.
