Hermes Scarf OLIVE GREEN Galop Volant RARE and MINT (ish) in Original Box
£375.00
A beautiful, rare, boxed Hermes scarf, in as new condition, at an excellent price. Perfect for the horse lover, and for any collector. This scarf retains its original folds, but at some stage has been incorrectly folded, hence we cannot quite describe it as ‘mint’. It comes in its own authentic box which is in reasonable condition, and it retains its care label. Condition 10/10.
Designed by popular artist, Dimitri Rybaltchenko in 1998, there was a subsequent very limited re-issue with the title in English and Chinese, and the ‘Hermes Paris’ moved.
From The Hermès Autumn-Winter 1998/99 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: It is the improbable pace of these horses, whose impetus literally makes them take off: such are these equestrian statuettes, clay models dating from the Tang, the dynasty of emperors who reigned over China between 618 and 907 AD. This period was the high spot of civilisation. Ladies shone at polo, and horsemen knew that the horse was on earth as the dragon was in heaven: worthy of veneration.
