Hermes Parade MINT! Fun and Whimsical!

Already becoming a collectors’ item, this crazy scarf was designed by increasingly highly regarded English illustrator, Jonathan Burton for Hermes’ 2024 collection, the ’24’ celebrating the address of the Fashion House’s  Parisian headquarters, as much as the year of issue.  The designs depicts a surreal celebration of giant inflatables,  including a dolphin, a banana, a rocket, a billiard ball, and a rhinoceros, parading through the streets of Paris toward the iconic 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré boutique. Most cleverly, when viewed from a distance, the scattered balloons momentarily align to form the shape of a horse.

Hermes writes:  It’s party time at Hermès. Everyone has gathered on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, decked out in their finest balloons. A curious gallery parades in the blue sky and dances in the wind. A dolphin joins a banana, a billiard ball floats towards a rocket, and, with the magic of weightlessness, a rhinoceros even takes flight. All that’s missing is a horse… But then, isn’t that one just visible up there, like a fleeting cloud in the air?
