Hermes Scarf Les (Jeunes) Coqs Very Rare and Sought After

£349.00

Designed by Madame La Torre in 1964, this is a charming depiction of cockerels pecking in the dust. A particularly rare and collectible scarf, it comes in the traditional green of the first issue, with golden cockerels. The silk has softened with age, and there is some slight marking, but no significant stains or imperfections otherwise.

There is argument whether its full name is “Les Coqs”, “Les Jeunes Coqs” , “Les Coqs d’Or” or “Les Jaunes Coqs”. There’s also disagreement on whether it was issued in 1964 or 1966.

The lack of copyright symbol indicates that this is one of the earlier scarves produced, the later ones feature the copyright after ‘HERMES PARIS’.  Facebook’s Hermes Scarf Guides claims the 1966 year of issue for this scarf design.
