Hermes Scarf Les (Jeunes/Jaunes) Coqs Very Rare and Sought Feels Unworn
£399.00
This scarf still glows and appears unworn. The silk is thick, the hems are plump, but there’s no care label and and we’ve found the smallest, faintest mark; so we’ve taken it to the cleaners to ensure that you receive it at its best. This means there may be some delay on receipt, but we think this will prove well worth it! Condition 9.8/10.
Designed by Madame La Torre in 1964, this is a charming depiction of cockerels pecking in the dust. A particularly rare and collectible scarf, this one is likely to be from the original issue.
There is argument whether its full name is “Les Coqs”, “Les Jeunes Coqs” , “Les Coqs d’Or” or “Les Jaunes Coqs”. There’s also disagreement on whether it was issued in 1964 or 1966.
The lack of copyright symbol, indicates that this is one of the original scarves produced, as there is no copyright after ‘HERMES PARIS’. Facebook’s Hermes Scarf Guides claims the 1966 year of issue for this scarf design.
