Hermes Scarf Parade en Fanfare – Joyous!

At first sight this utterly delightful scarf – reminiscent of the Neopolitan ice cream of our extreme youth – appears new.  But on close inspection, we’ve reluctantly taken it to the cleaners because we’ve found too many small, faint stains, smudges and creases on it, yet it retains all the stiffness, brightness and clarity of a pristine new scarf.  Condition 9.75/10.

Created by Tong Ren in 2023, the design depicts a jigsaw-puzzle-like procession of diverse animals, marching to the beat of a brass band.

Hermes writes: “There are so many animals here that even Noah’s Ark would struggle to house them all. Can you hear the cow, owl, buffalo and duck marching to the beat of the brass band? It is indeed a horse that leads the parade – it’s not always the lion who wears the crown! This, my dear Sir, is a luxuriant and colourful parade. Like a circus tamer training his animals, Tong Ren has assembled quite a menagerie, each occupying its own square, in this puzzle-like pageant. Feel free to rearrange them but be mindful not to offend the horse’s honour.

The design is available in multiple sizes and formats, including the classic Carré 90, the smaller Carré 45 pocket square, and the narrow Twilly. It’s also been released in several colourways, including Blue/Camel/Rouge and Glycine/Vert Cyprès/Caramel.
