Just About Perfect ‘Chasse A Vol’ (Hunting in Flight)

With a rich navy border, this beautiful Hermes scarf has been carefully looked after, and perfectly cleaned, leaving an immaculate, thick soft, silky finish. It has a tiny pulled thread, but otherwise appears faultless. Condition 9.8/10.

The very definition of Parisian elegance, this beautiful Hermes scarf (formerly known as ‘Fauconnerie Royal Debuit’) was designed by Henri de Linares, and first issued in 1962. It is both rare and sought after, the artistic detail is just exquisite!

Henri de Linares (1904-1987) was a prolific French artist, whose primary focus was detailed studies of hunting trophies. He was the creator of numerous hunting themed scarves for the House of Hermes, including the Le Retour du Chasseur (or Lapins Morts), and most famously, Gibiers.

His still-life drawings, lifelike (the irony not withstanding), filled with such incredible detail, are reminiscent of paintings of the early 17th century Northern Renaissance artists. But luckily for us, we do not have to spend thousands to have one of those, we have the beautiful Hermes carre, which is not just the ideal accessory but can easily double as a gorgeous wall display.

The Chasse a Vol pays homage to the peregrine falcons. Used in falconry because of their great hunting and training ability, the peregrine is also renowned for its speed, which can reach over 200 miles per hour or 322 km/h.
