Hermes Au Bord de L’Eau (On the Water’s Edge) GRAIL! Virtually Unworn Spotless

Absolutely beautiful. One of our favourite designs, in such a pretty colourway of blue and turquoise, with apricot borders. Exudes peace and tranquility – an evening at the water’s edge, teeming with wildlife.

Condition: 9.9/10, wonderfully soft and drapey, care label intact, although if you look really, really carefully, you might spot the tiniest, most discreet hole in one corner, from a brooch, or dry cleaning.

This much sought-after Hermes scarf is by Laurence Toutsy Bourthoumieux Thioune, issued in 2005. It shows life abundantly thriving and frolicking at the water’s edge: kingfishers, a heron, little fishes, butterflies, dragon flies, even a little bunny having a drink! There is just so much to see and beauty to behold – you can almost hear the ripples of the water! The detail is just exquisite!

This gifted French artist is responsible for a number of scarves for Hermes. She has signed her works as L.T. for Laurence Thioune, and as Toutsy, probably after her marriage, when her name changed to Laurence Bourthoumieux.
